Hungarian Community Gala Celebration

This past weekend, the Hungarian community remembered and celebrated the 1956 Revolution. Dignitaries, local community leaders and community members also attended some of the celebrations held in Toronto. In the Budapest Park, flowers and wreaths were placed at the '56 memorial monument. One of the highlights of the multi-day event was illuminating Niagara Falls with the colours of the Hungarian flag: red, white and green.

It is no secret that in 1956, Canada had opened its doors and welcomed Hungarians who were fleeing their country to save their and their families' lives. For the gesture, the Hungarian community is forever grateful to Canada.

A Gala Dinner was held on Saturday evening in remembrance and celebration of the '56 heroes. The event was attended by Minister Michael Tibollo, Deputy Secretary of State Dr. Dancs Ferenc, Ambassador Dr. Vass-Salazar Maria, Consul Palkovits Valer, President of HCBA Balla Sandor, President of HCCC Boda-Lazar Judith, leaders of the different Hungarian associations, '56 heroes and guests. At the dinner, '56 Revolution heroes were celebrated and local businessmen and women were recognized for their work, achievement and contribution to the community.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Kiss Maria at Corvina Directory for nominating me and to The Hungarian Canadian Business Association for awarding me the Businesswoman of the Year Award 2021. I would like to share this recognition with my family and my clients for their continuous support, my office for having my back, and my friends and supporters as it would not be possible without all of them. A sincere thank you to all!
